Product Details
Background
The Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) S Protein, also known as Spike Protein, is a key glycoprotein located on the surface of the virus that plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle primarily responsible for recognizing and binding to specific receptors on host cells thereby mediating viral entry into the host cells it consists of two subunits, S1 and S2 where the S1 subunit determines the viral tissue tropism and serotype specificity due to its high variability which is the main reason for the differentiation of different IBV serotypes meanwhile as the major antigen inducing the host to produce neutralizing antibodies the IBV S Protein is also a core target for the development of vaccines and diagnostic reagents.
