This protein is also a cytokine that upregulates expression of interferon-gamma and interleukin-12. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin-embedded Human placenta tissue. Antigen Retrieval: Steam tissue section in Citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The tissue section was stained with ARG63798 anti-OPN / Osteopontin antibody at 5 µg/ml dilution followed by AP-staining.
