In blood and cerebrospinal fluid, the concentration of Aβ40 is about 10 timers higher than that of Aβ42. Aβ40 is the main component in the amyloid deposit of vascular amyloid angiopathy. Detection of Aβ40 is useful for the predication of Alzheimer’s disease.
