Background
Forkhead box A1 (FOXA1), also known as Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 3 alpha (HNF3a), is a transcription factor present in normal breast ductal epithelium and other epithelia including that of the bladder, colon, lung, pancreas, and prostate. Studies have found FOXA1 to be co-expressed with estrogen receptor in many cases of breast carcinoma, and Anti-FOXA1 is therefore useful in sub-classifying this cancer.
