Product Details
Background
The protein expressed by the MAPT gene promotes microtubule assembly and stability and might be involved in establishing and maintaining neuronal polarity. Its C-terminus binds axonal microtubules, and the N-terminus binds neural plasma membrane components, suggesting that tau functions as a linker protein between the two. Axonal polarity is predetermined by MAPT localization within the neuronal cell's domain defined by the centrosome. The short isoforms allow cytoskeleton plasticity, whereas the longer isoforms may preferentially play a role in its stabilization. Data

Sandwich ELISA analysis of pTau181 by ARA6838 & ARA6860.
Microtiter wells were coated with ARA6838 as the capture antibody. Synthetic peptides with different phosphorylation sites were used as the antigen. Peroxidase conjugated mouse anti-human Tau monoclonal antibody (ARA6860) was used as the detection antibody.
Result: ARA6838 and ARA6860 can be used as a matched antibody pair to detect and quantify the concentration of pTau181.

Cross reactivity of ARA6838 to other peptides and recombinant proteins by ELISA.
Microtiter wells were coated with various peptides and recombinant proteins.ARA6838 was used as the primary antibody and peroxidase conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG was used as the secondary antibody.
Result: ARA6838 does not cross-react with Tau peptide or recombinant proteins without any phosphorylation site.
