Background
IL-33 is a number of IL-1 superfamily, secreted by high endothelial venules at high levels, which is found in tonsils, peyer patches and mesenteric lymph nodes, but not in placenta. It binds and signals through the IL-1RL1/ST2 receptor, to activate NF-κB and MAP kinases. IL-33 induces production of TH2 cell related cytokines, including IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13, and exerts multiple inflammation related bioactivities. Full length and mature mouse IL-33 share approximately 55% and 90% aa sequence identity with human and rat IL-33, respectively. Recombinant Murine IL-33 is a 17.5kDa protein containing  158 amino acid.
