Background
Transforming Growth Factor β1 (TGFβ1) is a cytokine present in regulatory T-cells, immature dendritic cells,megakaryocytes, and platelets, with a functional involvement in regulating T-cells. TGFβ1 is overexpressed in thyroid cancer and cervical squamous cell carcinoma. Poor prognosis of cervical squamous cell carcinoma is associated with TGFβ1.
